Butler County Safe Communities works to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities through education, public awareness, and community partnerships.

Why Get involved?

  • Traffic crashes are a preventable form of death.

  • Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for teenagers.

  • Teens have an 89.2% chance of being involved in a crash during the first three years of driving.

  • More than 10% of people don’t use their seat belts, yet seat belt usage is the #1 life saving measure in a car.

  • Nationally, drunk-driving crashes claim more than 10,000 lives per year – that’s one person every 48 minutes.

  • Distracted driving is an epidemic — eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, mind on driving is the safest way to travel

Education & Public Awareness

The Safe Communities Coalition raises awareness about traffic safety at local fairs and events, promoting campaigns like Click It or Ticket, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, and Stay Alive, Don’t TXT & Drive. We partner with schools to highlight seat belt use, sober driving, and the dangers of distracted driving.

Our Look Out For Motorcycles campaign promotes motorcycle safety for both riders and drivers, while we also focus on pedestrian safety.

Together, Butler County Safe Communities and the Coalition aim to reduce risky behaviors on our roads.
