Adult Online Classes

If you're 18 or older and didn't pass the maneuverability or road portion of your driving test, you’ll need to take the Ohio Abbreviated Adult Driving Course. The Safety Council offers a convenient, state-approved, 4-hour online course that you can complete from home.

The course fee is $74.99, payable online upon registration.

NOTE: Applicants who chose the option for 24 hours of driving with a licensed driver (21 years of age or older) can’t complete more than four hours of driving in one day.

4-hour Abbreviated

Online Class

This course is required by all drivers who have had their license suspended. It is optional for people who want to get a two (2) point credit on their driving record to prevent a license suspension caused by too many points.

The course fee is $74.99 payable upon registration.

8-hour Adult Remedial

Instruction/Driver’s Education

Teens at least 15 years and 6 months trying to get their driver’s license in Ohio must complete 24 hours classroom instruction and 8 hours in-car*. Online classroom is a convenient way to learn. The teen driver’s education course link provided by the Safety Council is a 24-hour, state-approved, online course.

The course fee is $74.99, payable online upon registration.

*NOTE: We do not offer the 8 hours in-car instruction

Remedial Classroom

Juvenile Remedial Course

Provided by the Safety Council, this state-approved, 6-hour, in-class course is for individuals aged 16-18 who:

  • Have a Probationary Two Revocation (convicted of 2 moving violations within 2 years before turning 18)

  • Have a Probationary Three Revocation (convicted of 3 moving violations within 2 years before turning 18)

  • Were referred by a juvenile court

  • Are required by the Ohio BMV to complete a juvenile driver improvement program (Note: The course must be taken after the mailing date of the suspension letter)

  • Are required by another state to complete a driver improvement program

Course Fee: $100 (payable online or by cash/money order on the day of class).
Private class: $250.

Remedial Classroom

Adult Remedial Course

Provided by the Safety Council, this state-approved, 8-hour in-class course is for individuals who:

  • Have a suspension for accumulating 12 points on their driving record within 2 years

  • Were convicted of operating a vehicle after underage alcohol consumption

  • Were referred by a municipal court

  • Are required by the Ohio BMV to complete a remedial driver improvement program (Note: The course must be taken after the suspension letter is mailed)

  • Have 2-11 points on their record and want to apply for a 2-point credit

  • Are required by another state to complete a driver improvement program

The course can be taken every 3 years, up to 5 times in a lifetime.

Course Fee: $130 (payable online or by cash or money order on the day of class).
